Purpose of role: At the forefront of shaping the future of the UK energy sector this is a pivotal role in owning the strategy, influencing, policy development, and engagement with external stakeholders to drive the implementation of strategic priorities for Marine and the wider enterprise. Leads the transformation of the energy landscape through enabling the market in the advancement of Carbon Capture, and Storage (CCS) and Hydrogen technologies.
Main Accountabilities:
- Develop and refine sector strategies that position TCE as a pioneering force in the creation of opportunities for CCS and Hydrogen technologies
- Identify and assess opportunities to create value within the sector, leveraging market insights and commercial expertise
- Engage with key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry leaders, and community representatives, to influence policy development and ensure widespread support for our initiatives
- Foster strong customer relationships, understanding their needs and collaborating to develop tailored solutions that meet their requirements
- Drive business development efforts, including lead management and innovative technology insights, to secure new partnerships and market opportunities
- Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of energy systems and integration, championing technology innovation to optimize sector efficiency and sustainability
- Implement robust procurement strategies and develop compelling business cases to support investment decisions and enhance value
- Uphold a strong focus on health & safety evidence and assessment, ensuring the highest standards of risk and compliance are met
- Champion sustainability practices, aiming to create a positive and lasting impact on the environment and communities we serve
Knowledge, experience & skills:
- Proven leadership experience in the energy sector, with a focus on CCS, Hydrogen, or related fields
- Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop sector strategies and assess market insights
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement, influence, and management
- In-depth understanding of energy systems, technology trends, and innovations
- Commercial acumen, with a track record of successful business development and value optimization
- Proficiency in health and safety practices, risk management, and compliance
- Commitment to sustainability and a passion for driving positive environmental impact
