Accounts Receivable Assistant (18 Month FTC)

The Accounts Receivable Assistant plays a crucial role in managing cash flows, processing financial transactions for rent receivables, service charges, and rent deposits, and ensuring compliance with financial accounting standards, policies, and procedures. This role supports the wider Finance Team with cash transactions in Horizon and Agresso.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Processing and Cash Receipting:
- Process all receipts related to rental and service charge income and other related invoicing.
- Review and process all cash transfer requests.
- Investigate unreconciled transactions and ensure timely processing.
- Regularly review and clear the Cash Suspense Account.
- Create and manage rent deposit virtual accounts.
- Prepare cash reports and promptly resolve discrepancies.
- Financial Record Keeping and Accounting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all transactions.
- Manage relevant cash accounts in the Agresso general ledger.
- Monitor and report on cash flow, providing insights to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Administrative Support:
- Address tenants’ enquiries regarding cash transactions.
- Resolve cash-related disputes promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including Finance & Property Management.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
- Maintain up-to-date process documentation.
- Identify and escalate any cash-related risks.
Personal Requirements:
- Proven experience in operating financial systems in a processing capacity.
- Knowledge of MRI Horizon and Agresso is useful but not essential.
- Understanding of commercial property service charge processes is an advantage.
- Strong numerical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to explain queries and problems concisely.
- Proficient in MS Office and E-banking applications.
- Minimum GCSE Level education, including Maths and English.
- AAT or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
