Commercial Analyst (Marine)

Purpose of the role: As a Commercial Analyst, you will provide the analysis and modelling skills to support the development of cutting-edge leasing models, pricing strategies, and commercial arrangements that drive value, mitigate risk, and support the achievement of Marine’s strategic goals. You will support sectors in the development of leasing models, pricing strategies, and other commercial arrangements that align with business case development and decision-making processes, and your analytical skills will play a crucial role in ensuring sectors are equipped to navigate complex negotiations effectively. You will also be responsible for translating commercial arrangements into financial outputs, ensuring commercial outcomes are accurately presented to Senior Management for consideration and approval. You will also be responsible for presenting how new products align with all aspects of the Value Creation Framework (VCF).
Main Accountabilities:
- Providing detailed commercial analysis and insight to support the development of leasing models and other commercial arrangements, including pricing strategies. This should include consideration of implications and sensitivities across all aspects of the Value Creation Framework (VCF) to ensure we are taking a holistic view of value creation
- Leveraging data analysis to provide insights and inform pricing and commercial decisions
- Support the Commercial Advisory Team in collaborating with sector teams on their commercial model design to support the achievement of Marine’s strategic goals and ensure alignment with business case development and decision-making processes
- Support the development of integrated business cases aligned to the Enterprise Investment Strategy
- Creation and maintenance of required model(s) to translate new commercial arrangements into outputs that demonstrate alignment with all aspects of the VCF
- Presentation of outputs to relevant Senior Managers/Directors for approval
- Ad hoc analysis and support as requested by the Head of Commercial Finance (Marine)
Knowledge, skills & experience:
- Proficiency in commercial analysis, including pricing, and risk management
- Strong data analysis, modelling and presentation skills, with an ability to extract key understandings and simplify messaging from complex data
- Strong skills to inform decision-making and pricing models
- Understanding of compliance and risk management principles
- Collaboration and communication skills to work closely with sector teams
- Experience in the Energy or Infrastructure sector would be a preferable
- Holding an ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualification would be preferable
