Portfolio Delivery Lead at The Crown Estate
Purpose of Role:
The Crown Estate are recruiting two Portfolio Delivery Lead roles; one for St James's Market and one for Regent Street. The Portfolio Delivery Lead is responsible for driving the successful delivery of diverse and complex projects within The Crown Estate's Development pipeline. This includes managing projects in the St James’s or Regent Street portfolios in London, with a total value of approximately £1 billion. The role focuses on ensuring consistent construction and project management practices, maximizing financial, social, and environmental value through best practices and innovation.
Context of Opportunity / Main Accountabilities:
As a Portfolio Delivery Lead, you will play a critical role in scaling up delivery, quality, and project management capabilities within a dynamic environment undergoing comprehensive transformation. You will work closely with Development teams to ensure excellence in construction and project management, focusing on procurement strategies, supply chain engagement, programme management, quality assurance, and health and safety outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing project management and delivery strategy implementation to meet goals and milestones.
- Supporting the execution of business plans with short, medium, and long-term forecasts.
- Embedding a safety-first culture across all real estate activities.
- Ensuring risk management protocols and security resilience are in place for all development projects.
- Driving the delivery of environmental sustainability goals, including net zero and decarbonization targets.
- Enhancing customer focus to ensure The Crown Estate is viewed as a partner of choice.
- Managing cross-functional project teams and influencing successful outcomes.
- Developing and evolving delivery and project management capabilities.
- Leading the Portfolio Pipeline reporting requirements and representing The Crown Estate at industry events.
- Promoting skills and training initiatives within service partnerships and supply chains.
Most Important Skills Based Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Extensive experience in senior delivery, construction, and programme management roles within complex and diverse business environments.
- A proven track record of leading major development projects, including new builds and refurbishments.
- Expertise in managing supply chain relationships and influencing successful outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in real estate project delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver mixed-use, multi-site major projects and manage risks effectively.
- Excellent financial management and commercial awareness.
- Professional qualifications in construction management, engineering, or a related field, with membership in relevant industry bodies.
- Exceptional negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in coaching and mentoring teams.
- A commitment to sustainability and innovation in project delivery.
