Business Process Manager

Purpose of Role:
As The Crown Estate’s activity grows, our processes require more standardisation, improvement and control. Hence, we have decided to invest in Business Process Management through our Operational Excellence team. This team has recently procured the ARIS Business Process Management (BPM) tool and is increasing the size of the team to support its rollout.
This role reports into the Director of Operational Excellence.
This is an exciting, dynamic, two-part role combining strategic system development with hands-on process improvement.
Main accountabilities:
1. Build and Evolve Our Business Process Management Capability
- Own and manage our Aris Business Process Management tool end-to-end.
- Design and refine the process architecture, taxonomy, governance, and standards.
- Create and link dynamic ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ process maps, including Value Stream Maps.
- Develop process documentation (SOPs, guides, checklists) and training materials.
- Deliver training on Aris and process improvement techniques (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Champion process governance and quality assurance across the organisation.
2. Drive Process Improvement Projects
- Partner with teams across The Crown Estate to identify, analyse, and solve process challenges.
- Facilitate workshops and interviews with subject matter experts.
- Apply Lean and other methodologies to deliver measurable business benefits.
- Build systems to track and report improvement outcomes.
- Support our journey towards Lean Accreditation with the Lean Enterprise Research Centre in Cardiff.
Most important skills based requirements:
- Experience: Strong background and experience in Business Process Management using Aris software or others such as Celonis, Signavio, BlueWorks etc.
- Expertise: Proven skills in process analysis, reengineering, and Lean/Continuous Improvement (including Value Stream Mapping).
- Facilitation: Ability to lead workshops and engage stakeholders effectively.
- Digital Mindset: Experience defining digital requirements and creating clear documentation.
- Drive: A results-oriented approach with a focus on measurable business impact.
