Join our team as a Platform Team Lead and drive the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud and on-premises platforms!
Purpose of the Role:
As the Platform Team Lead, you will oversee the deployment, management, and monitoring of all cloud and on-premises platforms within the organisation. Your role is pivotal in ensuring operational efficiency and success, driving automation initiatives, implementing best practices, and planning for future enhancements to foster continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of platform and network engineers, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
- Technical Roadmap: Develop and maintain a roadmap for the technical life cycle of our platforms, planning for future enhancements and technology upgrades.
- Strategic Alignment: Align technical strategies with business goals and objectives, collaborating with various departments to design, implement, and maintain robust platform solutions.
- Infrastructure Management: Manage infrastructure and establish DevOps practices, ensuring network performance and maintaining security and compliance standards.
- Disaster Recovery: Plan for disaster recovery and ensure high availability of critical systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve platform technologies, being hands-on in deployment and management.
- Troubleshooting: Work closely with the team to troubleshoot issues, optimise performance, and implement new technologies.
Team Development and Performance:
- Mentorship: Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Goal Setting: Set clear goals and expectations for team members, encouraging continuous learning and skill development.
- Recognition: Recognise and reward high performance and achievements.
What We're Looking For:
- Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and network management. Proficiency in tools and technologies such as Microsoft Azure, ARM, Bicep, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of Cisco networking technologies and firewall management. Experience with disaster recovery planning and high availability systems. Strong troubleshooting and performance optimisation skills.
- Agile Working: Experience with Agile methodologies and practices, including leading and participating in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Capabilities: Proven leadership skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong verbal and written communication skills, adaptability to changing technologies and business requirements, and high attention to detail.
