As a Warden, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety, enjoyment, and conservation of this unique environment.
Purpose of Role:
To assist in delivering exceptional Visitor Services across the Windsor Estate, ensuring the safety and security of visitors, the protection of wildlife and habitats, and the safeguarding of property. This role provides a visible Crown Estate presence, offering guidance and information to visitors while responding to incidents and emergencies.
Context of opportunity / Main accountabilities:
Patrol the Estate efficiently and engage with visitors to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Act as first responder to incidents including accidents, severe weather, criminal activity, and medical emergencies.
Enforce Windsor Great Park Regulations and relevant legislation such as the Countryside Rights of Way Act (CROW).
Participate in an on-call duty rota providing basic first aid cover.
Liaise with event organisers to ensure compliance with licence conditions.
Communicate effectively with emergency services, stakeholders, and local councils regarding Estate activities.
Report and resolve hazards, maintain cleanliness, and complete incident reports and weekly returns.
Ensure vehicles are maintained and report any issues promptly.
Carry out general warden duties and other customer-facing tasks as required.
Most important skills-based requirements:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy.
Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
Knowledge of relevant legislation (CROW Act, Windsor Great Park Regulations).
First Aid trained.
Full, valid manual driving licence.
Basic IT skills and ability to complete reports accurately.
