Client Accountant (15 Month FTC)

We are looking for a proactive and detail‑driven Client Accountant to support the financial management of our client portfolios. In this role, you will help ensure the accuracy of income and expenditure records, assist with financial reporting, and play a key part in maintaining the integrity of our client accounts. You will work closely with colleagues across the business to deliver a high‑quality service and keep financial operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Income Management:
Support the raising of service charges and rental income, including turnover calculations and rent deposit maintenance.
Manage accounting for additional income streams, such as insurance and interest on late payments, and maintain accurate reconciliations.
Prepare completion statements for property sales and lease terminations.
Process tenant drawdowns and refunds in line with surveyor instructions.
Expenditure Management:
Work with site teams to ensure the accuracy of service charge expenditure and highlight any variances.
Maintain clear and accurate records of expenditure recoverable from tenants.
Reporting:
Contribute to regular client financial reports, as well as ad hoc reporting for surveyors and solicitors.
Support statutory and regulatory submissions to HMRC, RICS, and other relevant bodies.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
Work closely with the wider client accounting team to balance workloads and support shared goals.
Build strong working relationships and attend regular meetings to resolve issues and share insights.
Skills and Experience:
Knowledge or experience of basic accounting or bookkeeping.
Minimum GCSE‑level education (Maths and English at grade C or above).
Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure, manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
