Junior Service Charge Assistant (12 Month FTC)

The Role
As our Junior Service Charge Assistant, you will support the Service Charge Accountant with the day-to-day management of a designated property portfolio. You will work closely with colleagues across Asset, Property and Facilities Management, and the wider Service Charge Accounting team to ensure the smooth and accurate operation of service charge processes.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in service charge accountancy or administration who is eager to develop their skills and progress their career.
Key Responsibilities
Reconcile service charges for an allocated portfolio
Build strong working relationships with Asset, Property, and Facilities Managers, and the SC Accounting team
Support quarterly Income & Expenditure reviews
Process adjustments, accruals, and prepayments within the property management system
Assist with external audit processes
Support the Service Charge Accountant across the wider portfolio
Raise weekly service charge billings in Horizon
Enter annual budgets into Horizon
Raise ad hoc billings as required
Provide absence cover for the Service Charge Accountant
Maintain accurate service charge trackers
Resolve service charge queries from suppliers and external stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
Experience
Experience in service charge accountancy or a finance-related administrative role
Property accounting experience is beneficial
Knowledge of Horizon and Voyager property management systems
Prior billing experience
Skills & Attributes
Excellent analytical and reporting skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work at pace and drive timely resolutions
Proactive approach to query resolution
Demonstrated career progression and willingness to learn
Ability to manage a portfolio and plan weekly and monthly tasks effectively
