Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for process excellence and team development? At The Crown Estate, we’re looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Team Lead to drive operational efficiency, mentor a high-performing team, and help shape the future of our finance function.
About the Role
As our Accounts Payable Team Lead, you’ll be at the heart of our finance operations, managing supplier invoice processing, ensuring timely payments, and championing continuous improvement. You’ll lead a dedicated team, build strong supplier relationships, and support the Accounts Payable Manager in delivering automation and system enhancements.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and inspire the Core Accounts Payable team
- Monitor performance, coach team members, and drive process efficiency
- Oversee invoice processing, payment runs, and month-end activities
- Act as the go-to expert for supplier and business queries
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and audit standards
- Champion process improvements and automation initiatives
- Support onboarding and mentoring of new team members and apprentices
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience leading an Accounts Payable team
- Solid knowledge of invoice processing, coding, and public procurement
- Proficiency in AP systems (Agresso UNIT4, Proactis/Medius a plus)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A continuous improvement mindset and analytical approach
- AAT qualification (or working towards) is an advantage
- Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
