Purpose of Role: The Marine Survey Strategy Manager role is integral to the forward planning intentions of The Crown Estate in how we drive value from both the delivery of surveys campaigns and the survey data of others across the Marine environment. This role is responsible for the design and prioritisation of strategic actions and relationships associated with survey activities in line with our Marine Strategy and Marine Delivery Routemap.
This role requires expertise in marine survey data and evidence; from a regulatory, strategic management or asset management perspective as well as sound understanding of key UK organisations with marine survey requirements or data ownership that will contributes to the continued development of data-driven decision-making, forward plan and strategic alignment within Marine.
Main accountabilities:
Manage the design, scope and scale of strategic actions associated with survey activities across the Marine sector, ensuring compliance with established protocols and industry best practices
Develop and manage relationships with key UK organisations with marine survey requirements or data ownership to drive further insight and value from The Crown Estate’s data and through our integrated digital platforms
Work with the Data & Insights team to prioritise forward plan delivery of key survey related evidence gaps from collaboration or investment in shared projects or third-party data
Ensure efficient data management practices, including data gathering, reporting, and evidence collection, to support accurate and insightful decision-making
Collaborate with stakeholders and external partners, to facilitate effective stakeholder engagement and management of any evidence-based projects
Maintain a strong focus on sustainability principles, aligning survey strategic priorities with broader environmental and socioeconomic goals
Leverage technological insights and assessments to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of survey priorities within Marine
Most important skills based requirements:
Proficiency in data management, gathering, reporting, and evidence collection, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
Strong understanding of marine evidence collection, survey methodologies, and technological advancements within the context of marine activities
Sound understanding of key statutory or other marine data organisations with a role in marine survey-based evidence use, insight and management
Demonstrable Health and safety experience; with a sound knowledge of HSE management in the marine environment associated with survey campaigns
Effective stakeholder engagement and management skills to foster collaboration and ensure alignment with survey objectives
