Sustainable Procurement Manager (1 year FTC- Maternity Cover)
Purpose of Role:
This key role supports The Crown Estate’s supply chain environmental, social, and sustainability targets. As we invest in transforming our procurement practices, the Sustainable Procurement Manager will play a pivotal role in delivering on our recently launched supplier charter. This includes managing ‘Scope 3’ data collection and compliance.
The successful candidate will embed sustainability principles into our supply chain processes, ensuring maximum value creation across financial, environmental, and social dimensions. They will champion health and safety performance, legal compliance, and set carbon reduction targets for key suppliers. This role aligns supply chain sustainability with our broader Enterprise sustainability strategy.

Main Responsibilities:
- Align with and ensure compliance to Enterprise sustainability strategy and objectives.
- Design and implement steps to embed the Sourcing Principles from the Supplier Charter into initial supplier assessments and ongoing monitoring.
- Align supplier risk monitoring with corporate frameworks (e.g., Cyber Security, Health & Safety, Social Value).
- Support category managers in developing sustainability objectives within their category strategies.
- Develop the overall supply chain sustainability (‘Scope 3’) roadmap and oversee data collection and analysis.
- Support the Category team on sustainability related requirements in tenders
- Foster strong cross-business stakeholder relationships to understand business needs.
- Represent the procurement team in relevant group sustainability forums.
- Line management of the Supplier Assurance role.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
- Previous experience in developing supply chain sustainability roadmaps.
- Knowledge of key sustainability challenges in the built environment, including climate change and supply chain environmental impacts.
- Detailed understanding of ‘Scope 3’ requirements.
- Proficient data analytical skills.
- Familiarity with public sector procurement regulations (desirable but not essential).
